Linwood Barclay

My feed would be incomplete without the mention of Linwood Barclay. I picked up his first read 'No time for goodbye' after a friend described it as 'one of its kind'. Since then there has been no looking back. I have paperback of all the books . I have put tablet/phone covers due to its unavailability at the moment.

None of these books disappointed. Such riveting plots that left me clueless till the end. All the stories are filled with so many layers that makes for an absolute mess. Each chapter ending on a note that makes your jaw drop a bit wider.

The latest I finished is 'too close to home'.

It's a 466 page read but when it comes to Barclay's books, it's like gulping a shake that feels like water. The book is about the murder of Langleys, a family of 3 when they get murdered , the whole neighborhood is put to speculation. Investigations and story unravels shocking revelations.

One line from the book :

Mayor Randall Finley said " You. Are out. Of your fucking. Mind."

Can a sentence convey intonation in a better way?. Barclay is adept at expressing enormity of the crime.

I have been seeing a lot of thriller recommendations and I got lots to catch up. But I am the least bit guilty and if given an option I would pick his books again. His writings invoke addiction and I'm obsessed with it.

I highly recommend his books to people who are interested in thrillers.
