The Subtle art of not giving a fuck-Book Review
This book was all I needed to get a little perspective. I usually find self help books boring. In other words, I find myself getting stuck between pages and not wanting to continue. The books I had read , I felt the concepts repetitive, intertwined and beyond my comprehension. This book is nothing like it. A microscopic view about who we are,our struggles and the habits of our innate self that we hardly notice makes the book what it is. The book as such is no Bible of quotes which you would want to revisit. It's a simple walkthrough about the different dimensions to life. Not all your problems require your time and attention. Categorizing what matters and doesn't matter, must be a loop that should run continuously inside us, rather than cribbing and worrying about everything in life. Progressing further, the author introduces concepts like entitlements and how feeling entitled to both good or bad experiences in life could be dreadful. The simple fact that life will always keep knocking us with problems in one way or the other is put to us beautifully. As a beginner to self help books,I found most of the concepts fresh. There are examples taken from the lives of famous people which adds meaning to the concepts and makes us remember the lesson. The writing style is simple and engaging with tiny real life anecdotes from authors own life and others. PS : List of self help books that I left half-way: 1. Power of sub conscious mind by Joseph Murphy- This is a great book because I applied the concept and it worked. I did not finish the book though. 2.You can win by Shiv khera-I don't remember much and I read it here and there. 3.Habits of highly effective people by Stephen Covey. I left the book after the first few chapters because of lack of urge to pursue further.
